Three New Free Tools: Date Editor, Watermark, and Rename by EXIF
Bulk-fix EXIF timestamps, watermark photos with text or a logo, and rename files using date, GPS city, and camera model. All free, all browser-based.
We just shipped three new free tools that work alongside our photo geotagging workflow. All run 100% in your browser - no uploads.
1. Photo Date & Time Editor
Fixes wrong EXIF timestamps in bulk. Common cases:
- Camera clock set to the wrong year after a battery swap
- Travelled across timezones and want to shift every photo by N hours
- Scanned old photos that need a meaningful date so Apple Photos and Google Photos sort them correctly
- Preparing photos for GPX sync where timestamps must match a GPS track
Drop your JPEGs, set one date for all of them, shift by minutes, or edit each row. Re-saves DateTimeOriginal, DateTimeDigitized, and DateTime fields. Pixels untouched.
2. Bulk Watermark Tool
Add a text or logo watermark to many photos at once. Pick a position (corners or center), adjust opacity and size, hit Apply. EXIF (including GPS coordinates from our geotagging tool) is preserved on JPEG outputs.
Good fits:
- Photographers stamping proofs before client review
- Real estate teams adding a brand logo to every listing photo
- Designers and creators protecting work before posting
3. Photo Rename by EXIF
Stop staring at IMG_1234.JPG. Rename hundreds of photos in one go using a token template:
- `{date}_{city}_{seq}` produces `2026-05-20_paris_001.jpg`
- `{camera}_{datetime}` produces `fujifilm-x-t5_2026-05-20_140532.jpg`
- `{year}-{month}-{day}_{seq}` produces `2026-05-20_001.jpg`
The tool reads EXIF date, camera make/model, and GPS coordinates. If your template uses `{city}` or `{country}`, click Resolve Cities to convert GPS to place names via OpenStreetMap (rate-limited and respectful).
Output is a ZIP with renamed copies. Originals stay intact.
How they fit together
A typical trip workflow with the full Geo-Tag-It suite:
- HEIC to JPG - convert iPhone photos if needed.
- Date Editor - fix timezones or wrong camera clock.
- GPX Sync - auto-tag every photo from your GPS track.
- Watermark Tool - stamp your name or logo.
- Photo Rename - clean filenames by date and city.
- Photo Map Generator - embed the result on your blog.
All free, all in your browser. See the full free tools list.
